Viborg Animation Festival is a celebration for the entire city of Viborg. In 2025, this became even more visible as the festival launched a culinary collaboration with Viborg Streetfood Festival.

During Viborg Animation Festival, visitors could enjoy street food from around the world, accompanied by open-air screenings of old-school classic Danish animated films for the entirefamily.

At the same time, guests could take part in creative activities inspired by the films. For example, visitors could cook “Delle-Kaj’s” tiny meatballs or co-create a jungle graffiti wall – inspired by “Jungledyret Hugo”, make keychains from ocean plastic – based on “Bennys Badekar”, and sew a wide variety of “Checkered Ninja Dolls” (inspired by the popular “Ternet Ninja”).

VAF x Viborg Streetfood Festival was brought to life in a collaboration between Viborg Municipality, Mad & Kultur, UNESCO Creative City, Grønne Sammen, and a wide range of dedicated volunteers and local enthusiasts.
