About the internship
Viborg Animation Festival is seeking motivated interns for both the spring and fall semesters of 2026. As an intern, you will be part of daily operations and actively contribute to planning and running the Nordic’s largest animation festival.
The internship will be tailored to your studies, skills, and interests; ensuring a professionally relevant and educational experience.
What you will work on
As an intern at Viborg Animation Festival, tasks will be tailored to your skill level and interests, giving you the opportunity to explore multiple aspects of working in a cultural organization. Your tasks may include:
- Assisting in planning, coordinating, and running festival events, including talks, film screenings, exhibitions, and industry events
- Creating content for the festival’s communication channels, such as articles, interviews, posts, and short videos for the website, newsletters, and social media
- Helping boost visibility on social media, including content planning, live coverage during the festival, and audience engagement
- Communicating the festival programme and activities to various audiences, from local visitors to international film makers and industry professionals
- Prepare documentation and evaluation of the festival, including gathering insights and contributing to the development of future editions.
About VAF
Viborg Animation Festival is an international animation festival based in Viborg. Each year, the festival presents a broad programme of film screenings, professional talks, creative workshops, and cultural events centered on animation and visual storytelling. Operating at the intersection of culture, education, and business, the festival is a central part of the creative community in Viborg.
The festival takes place in week 37 in Viborg. In 2025, we welcomed nearly 30,000 participants across all activities.
Who are we looking for?
We imagine you are a student in a relevant field, such as communication, marketing, event coordination, experience economy, cultural management, media production, rhetoric, or similar.
You work independently, are curious, and enjoy participating in a creative work environment with a variety of tasks. Experience with events, communication, or cultural projects is an advantage but not required.

- Period: Spring or autumn, depending on your studies
- Work format: Primarily on-site at the office, with flexibility for remote work
